Ingredients:

  • 1 large head of broccoli (approx. 500g / 1.1 lbs), cut into bite-sized florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (5 ml)
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder (2.5 ml)
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (2.5 ml)
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, 1.25 ml)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Optional: Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (400°F). If your air fryer doesn’t have a preheat function, run it for 3-5 minutes at the specified temperature.
  2. Wash and thoroughly dry the broccoli florets. Excess moisture prevents crisping.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the broccoli florets with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Ensure the broccoli is evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the seasoned broccoli florets in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding; cook in batches if necessary.
  5. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the broccoli is tender-crisp and slightly charred around the edges.
  6. Transfer the air-fried broccoli to a serving dish. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese (if using) and serve immediately.
