Ingredients:
- 2 slices thick-cut sourdough bread
- 2 oz sharp cheddar cheese, hand-grated or sliced
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, whisk the softened butter and mayonnaise together until smooth. Spread this mixture generously on one side of each bread slice.
- Place one slice of bread, fat-side down, on a clean surface. Layer your sharp cheddar evenly, keeping the cheese about a quarter inch away from the edges. Top with the second slice, fat-side up.
- Place the sandwich in the air fryer basket. Use toothpicks to secure the top slice if your air fryer has high-wattage fan circulation. Cook at 360°F (182°C) for 4 minutes, flip with a silicone spatula, and cook for an additional 3 minutes until the exterior is mahogany-colored.
