Ingredients:

  • 1 (16 oz/454g) package frozen mini blooming onions
  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
  • Cooking spray (high heat)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a shallow bowl, whisk together flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), dried thyme, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a separate shallow bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.
  4. Working in batches, dredge each frozen onion first in the flour mixture, then in the egg mixture, and then back in the flour mixture, ensuring it's fully coated.
  5. Arrange the breaded onions in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray generously with cooking spray. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
