Ingredients:
- 1 (16 oz/454g) package frozen mini blooming onions
- 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
- Cooking spray (high heat)
Instructions:
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), dried thyme, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
- In a separate shallow bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.
- Working in batches, dredge each frozen onion first in the flour mixture, then in the egg mixture, and then back in the flour mixture, ensuring it's fully coated.
- Arrange the breaded onions in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray generously with cooking spray. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
