Ingredients:
- 2 large sweet potatoes (about 700g / 1.5 lbs), peeled and cut into 1/2-inch thick fries
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (4g)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (1g)
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (1g)
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (1g), or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (1g), or to taste
Instructions:
- Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into even 1/2-inch thick fries. Aim for consistency for even cooking.
- Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch for crispier results. Pat dry thoroughly with paper towels.
- In a large bowl, toss the dried sweet potato fries with olive oil, cornstarch, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Ensure the fries are evenly coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. You may need to cook them in batches.
- Cook for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fries are tender on the inside and golden brown and crispy on the outside.
- Remove the air fryer sweet potato fries from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favourite dipping sauce.
