Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20)
- 1 tsp (5 g) garlic powder
- 1 tsp (5 g) smoked paprika
- ½ tsp (2.5 g) black pepper
- ½ tsp (2.5 g) salt
- 1 ripe avocado
- ½ cup (120 ml) sour cream
- Juice of 1 lime (about 2 tbsp)
- 1 cup (150 g) shredded red cabbage
- ½ cup (75 g) thinly sliced red onion
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp (15 g) sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- Lettuce leaves (optional)
- Sliced tomatoes (optional)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine shredded cabbage, sliced onion, apple cider vinegar, and sugar. Toss well and season with salt and pepper. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into four equally sized patties.
- Heat the grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- In a bowl, mash the avocado and mix in sour cream and lime juice until smooth.
- Toast the hamburger buns lightly (optional). Spread avocado cream on the bottom half of each bun, add lettuce, a cooked patty, and top with red onion slaw and sliced tomatoes.
