Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 tsp (5 g) garlic powder
  • 1 tsp (5 g) smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp (2.5 g) black pepper
  • ½ tsp (2.5 g) salt
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • ½ cup (120 ml) sour cream
  • Juice of 1 lime (about 2 tbsp)
  • 1 cup (150 g) shredded red cabbage
  • ½ cup (75 g) thinly sliced red onion
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp (15 g) sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce leaves (optional)
  • Sliced tomatoes (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine shredded cabbage, sliced onion, apple cider vinegar, and sugar. Toss well and season with salt and pepper. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into four equally sized patties.
  3. Heat the grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  4. In a bowl, mash the avocado and mix in sour cream and lime juice until smooth.
  5. Toast the hamburger buns lightly (optional). Spread avocado cream on the bottom half of each bun, add lettuce, a cooked patty, and top with red onion slaw and sliced tomatoes.
