Ingredients:
- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon (5g) baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5g) salt
- 1 1/2 cups (240g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture; mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a lined or greased baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers look slightly underbaked.
- Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.
