Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5g) salt
  • 1 1/2 cups (240g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture; mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a lined or greased baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers look slightly underbaked.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.
