Ingredients:
- 1 cup (2 sticks, 226 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup (165 g) brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon (5 mL) vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups (280 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 g) salt
- 2 cups (340 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup (100 g) chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts, if using).
- Use a cookie scoop or spoon to portion dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers appear slightly underbaked.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
