Ingredients:

  • 1 medium green cabbage (about 2 lbs / 900g), cored and thinly sliced
  • 4 tbsp (60ml) unsalted butter
  • 1 medium yellow onion (about 5 oz / 140g), thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp granulated sugar
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Optional: 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Slice the cabbage, onion, and mince the garlic.
  2. Melt the butter in the skillet. Add the onion and cook until softened. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant.
  3. Add the sliced cabbage to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and sugar.
  4. Pour in the broth and apple cider vinegar. Cover the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning. Garnish with parsley (if using) and serve hot.
