  • 1 oz (30 ml) orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice (about 1 medium lime)
  • 2 tbsp (30 g) simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 4 cups (about 600 g) ice cubes
  • Lime wedges (for serving)
  • Coarse salt (for rimming glass, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Glasses: If desired, rim the glasses with coarse salt: Moisten the rim with a lime wedge, then dip into the salt on a plate.
  2. Blend the Ingredients: In a blender, combine tequila, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and ice cubes. Blend until smooth and slushy, stopping to scrape down the sides if necessary.
  3. Taste and Adjust: Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more simple syrup or lime juice to suit your preference.
  4. Serve: Pour the frozen margarita mixture into prepared glasses. Garnish with lime wedges and, if desired, a sprinkle of salt on top.
