  • ½ cup (85g) chocolate chips
  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ⅓ cup (65g) packed light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (120g) heat-treated all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ½ cup (85g) chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Combine oats, flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Cream together butter and sugars in a separate bowl.
  3. Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips and chill the dough for 30 minutes.
  6. For the cookie dough center, cream together butter and sugars.
  7. Beat in vanilla extract.
  8. Gradually add heat-treated flour and milk, mixing until combined.
  9. Stir in chocolate chips.
  10. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  11. Scoop out oatmeal dough and flatten slightly. Press a small ball of cookie dough filling into the center.
  12. Enclose the filling with the oatmeal dough.
  13. Place the assembled bites on the prepared baking sheet.
  14. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
  15. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
