Ingredients:

  • 40-45 Saltine Crackers
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 12 ounces Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • Optional: Sprinkles, chopped nuts, crushed candy canes, sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in sugar.
  3. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until golden amber.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Pour caramel over crackers, spreading evenly.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over caramel. Let stand until melted.
  8. Spread melted chocolate evenly over the caramel layer.
  9. Sprinkle with desired toppings.
  10. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or until firm. Break into pieces and serve.
