Ingredients:
- 40-45 Saltine Crackers
- 1 cup (2 sticks) Unsalted Butter
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 12 ounces Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- Optional: Sprinkles, chopped nuts, crushed candy canes, sea salt
Instructions:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in sugar.
- Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until golden amber.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour caramel over crackers, spreading evenly.
- Bake in a preheated oven until bubbly and golden brown.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over caramel. Let stand until melted.
- Spread melted chocolate evenly over the caramel layer.
- Sprinkle with desired toppings.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or until firm. Break into pieces and serve.
