Ingredients:

  • 1 (14 ounce/397g) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 cups (300g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup (113g/4 oz) unsalted butter, cut into cubes
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.5ml) peppermint extract (optional)
  • 1/2 cup (60g) crushed peppermint candies

Instructions:

  1. Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper or foil, leaving overhang.
  2. Combine sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract and peppermint extract (if using) until well combined.
  4. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle with crushed peppermint candies.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm. Remove from pan, cut into squares, and serve.
