Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces sushi-grade tuna, diced
  • 1 ripe avocado, diced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, toasted
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon wasabi paste
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Dice the sushi-grade tuna into small, uniform pieces. Prepare the avocado by removing the pit and skin, then dicing.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tuna, soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, and grated ginger.
  3. Gently fold in the diced avocado and green onions until combined without mashing the avocado.
  4. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds, cover the mixture, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to meld flavors.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, wasabi paste, and lime juice. Adjust seasoning with salt, if necessary.
  6. Using a ring mold or carefully with a spoon, plate the tuna tartare mixture. Drizzle the wasabi sauce over the top.
