Ingredients:
- 8 ounces sushi-grade tuna, diced
- 1 ripe avocado, diced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon green onions, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, toasted
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon wasabi paste
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- Salt, to taste
Instructions:
- Dice the sushi-grade tuna into small, uniform pieces. Prepare the avocado by removing the pit and skin, then dicing.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tuna, soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, and grated ginger.
- Gently fold in the diced avocado and green onions until combined without mashing the avocado.
- Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds, cover the mixture, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to meld flavors.
- In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, wasabi paste, and lime juice. Adjust seasoning with salt, if necessary.
- Using a ring mold or carefully with a spoon, plate the tuna tartare mixture. Drizzle the wasabi sauce over the top.
