Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • 3 pounds country-style beef ribs
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Mix until well combined.
  2. Rub the marinade generously over the beef ribs. Allow the ribs to marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours in the fridge).
  3. Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a little olive oil and sear the ribs for 2-3 minutes on each side until a rich golden-brown crust forms. Remove ribs and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Scrape the bottom to lift any browned bits. Transfer the mixture to an oven-safe baking dish or Dutch oven.
  5. Place the seared ribs into the baking dish, ensuring they are partially submerged in the broth. Cover tightly with foil or a lid and place in a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C).
  6. Let the ribs braise for about 2 hours or until they reach an internal temperature of 190°F (88°C)
  7. Remove the ribs and allow them to rest for a few minutes before serving.
