Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
- 3 pounds country-style beef ribs
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine olive oil, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Mix until well combined.
- Rub the marinade generously over the beef ribs. Allow the ribs to marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours in the fridge).
- Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a little olive oil and sear the ribs for 2-3 minutes on each side until a rich golden-brown crust forms. Remove ribs and set aside.
- In the same skillet, pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Scrape the bottom to lift any browned bits. Transfer the mixture to an oven-safe baking dish or Dutch oven.
- Place the seared ribs into the baking dish, ensuring they are partially submerged in the broth. Cover tightly with foil or a lid and place in a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C).
- Let the ribs braise for about 2 hours or until they reach an internal temperature of 190°F (88°C)
- Remove the ribs and allow them to rest for a few minutes before serving.
