Ingredients:

  • 4 medium-sized russet potatoes (about 800 g)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt (5 g), or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (2 g)
  • ½ teaspoon paprika (2 g)
  • Optional: freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut into uniform strips (about ¼ inch thick for optimal crispiness).
  2. Submerge the cut fries in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch for crispier fries.
  3. Drain and rinse the fries, then pat dry using a kitchen towel or paper towels until all moisture is absorbed.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the dried fries with olive oil, salt, garlic powder, and paprika. Toss until all fries are evenly coated.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (360°F) for about 5 minutes.
  6. Place fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 20-25 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
  7. Fries are done when they are golden brown and crispy. If needed, cook for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  8. Remove from air fryer, season with additional salt if desired, and serve immediately.
