Ingredients:

  • 2 large sweet potatoes (approx. 1.5 pounds or 680 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 mL)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (5 g)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (5 g)
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt (3 g)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper (1 g)
  • Fresh herbs (e.g., parsley or cilantro) for garnish
  • Your favourite dipping sauce (e.g., yogurt-based sauce or spicy ketchup)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Wash and peel the sweet potatoes if preferred. Cut into thin, even strips (about 1/4 inch thickness).
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sweet potato strips, olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, sea salt, and black pepper. Toss until evenly coated.
  4. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper (optional for easy cleanup). Spread the sweet potato fries in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on them during the last few minutes to prevent burning.
  6. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve immediately with your preferred dipping sauce.
