Ingredients:
- 14 oz (400g) firm tofu, drained and pressed
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch (or arrowroot powder)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or honey)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Drain and press tofu to remove excess moisture. Cut tofu into cubes or slices (your choice).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, and maple syrup.
- Place tofu in the marinade, ensuring even coating. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss marinated tofu in the spice mixture until coated.
- Line the baking sheet with parchment paper (if using) and arrange tofu in a single layer. Drizzle olive oil over tofu. Bake tofu in oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden and crispy.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
