Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450 g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2 g) black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) onion powder
  • 1 cup (120 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups (200 g) panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying (about 1-2 cups)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine chicken pieces with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Place flour in one bowl, beat eggs in another, and panko breadcrumbs in a third.
  3. Dredge each piece in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and then coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Arrange the breaded nuggets on a baking sheet and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  5. In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Carefully add the nuggets to the hot oil in batches, cooking until golden brown and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes per side).
  7. Use a slotted spoon to transfer nuggets to a wire rack or paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
