Ingredients:

  • 4 medium russet potatoes (about 1.5 lbs or 680g)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil (45ml)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (5g)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper (2g)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (2g) (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon paprika (2g) (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut into even strips (about ¼-inch thick).
  2. Place the cut potatoes in a large bowl of cold water. Soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch for crispier fries.
  3. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  4. Drain and dry the soaked potatoes thoroughly using a towel.
  5. In a large bowl, toss the dried potatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper, and any additional seasonings.
  6. Spread the fries in a single layer on a lined baking sheet, ensuring they aren’t overcrowded.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, flipping once halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and enjoy while hot!
