Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup chunky salsa
  • 3 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions:

  1. Place the 900 g ground beef in the bottom of the slow cooker. Note: Keep it loose so heat circulates
  2. Pour 240 ml chunky salsa over the beef.
  3. Sprinkle 45 ml taco seasoning, 5 ml garlic powder, and 2.5 ml smoked paprika on top.
  4. Give the mixture a light stir to combine.
  5. Cover with the lid and set to High for 4 hours. Cook until the meat is browned and tender.
  6. Use a meat masher or wooden spatula to break the beef into small crumbles.
  7. Skim off the liquid fat from the top with a large spoon.
  8. Blot any remaining grease with paper towels until the sauce is thick and mahogany colored.
