Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, cubed
  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 packet beef au jus mix
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth

Instructions:

  1. Pat the beef cubes dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the beef with salt, pepper, and olive oil. Optional: Sear the cubes in a skillet over high heat for 2 minutes per side for deeper color.
  2. Place the minced garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker and layer the seasoned steak bites on top.
  3. Sprinkle the beef au jus mix evenly over the meat, then drizzle the Worcestershire sauce and beef broth over the top.
  4. Cover and cook on Low for 6 hours (recommended) or High for 3 hours.
  5. Once the beef is fork-tender, stir in the cubed butter. Let it melt and emulsify with the pan juices for 10-15 minutes on the warm setting until the sauce is glossy.
