Ingredients:
- ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ¼ cup (35g) all-purpose flour
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
Instructions:
- Grease four ramekins and place them in the Dutch oven. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chocolate and butter. Melt in the microwave or over a double boiler until smooth, stirring occasionally.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg yolks, and sugar until pale and slightly thickened.
- Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture. Add vanilla and flour. Mix until just combined.
- Cover and refrigerate the batter for about 30 minutes to firm up.
- Pour the chilled batter evenly into the prepared ramekins.
- Cover the Dutch oven with its lid and bake for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are set but the centre is still soft.
- Let the ramekins cool for 1 minute. Run a knife around the edges and invert onto plates. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with ice cream, if desired.
