Ingredients:
- 2 cups unsweetened almond milk (480 ml)
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (15 g)
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup (15 ml) or honey, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (2.5 ml)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (1.25 g)
- Pinch of sea salt
- Whipped coconut cream or Greek yogurt for topping (optional)
- Dark chocolate shavings or cocoa nibs for topping (optional)
- A sprinkle of cinnamon or mini marshmallows for topping (optional)
Instructions:
- In a small saucepan, pour in the almond milk and heat over medium heat until warm but not boiling.
- Add the unsweetened cocoa powder and whisk until fully dissolved.
- Stir in the maple syrup (or honey), vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
- Continue to heat for another 2-3 minutes, whisking occasionally until steaming, but not boiling.
- Pour into mugs and top with your desired toppings.
