Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel and season both sides evenly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  2. Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar. Pour the mixture over the chicken, ensuring every inch is coated.
  4. Cover and cook on High for 3-4 hours or Low for 6-7 hours, or until the internal temperature hits 165°F (74°C).
  5. Remove the chicken to a platter and use two forks to pull the meat apart into bite-sized shreds.
  6. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and toss it in the remaining juices for 5-10 minutes on Low to allow the meat to soak up the glossy sauce.
