Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups (192g) all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon (3g) baking soda
- ½ teaspoon (3g) salt
- ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
- ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
- ¼ cup (50g) packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Pour the melted butter into the dry ingredients and stir until combined. Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar, and stir until well mixed.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the bowl. Stir until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough (or use a cookie scoop) onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between cookies.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
