Ingredients:
- 2 oz (60ml) Tequila (Blanco or Silver recommended)
- 1 oz (30ml) Orange Liqueur (Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- 1 oz (30ml) Fresh Lime Juice
- ½ - 1 Jalapeño slice (seeds removed for less heat, more for a bigger kick), thinly sliced
- ½ oz (15ml) Agave Nectar or Simple Syrup (optional)
- Lime wedge
- Coarse salt
Instructions:
- Salt the rim of your glass by running a lime wedge around the edge and dipping it into a plate of coarse salt.
- In the cocktail shaker, gently muddle the jalapeño slice(s) to release its oils. Be careful not to over-muddle, or it will be too spicy.
- Add tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and agave nectar (if using) to the shaker.
- Fill the shaker with ice.
- Shake well for 15-20 seconds, until the shaker is well chilled.
- Strain the margarita into your prepared glass filled with ice.
- Garnish with a lime wedge.
