Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs (680g) sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp (2.5ml) salt
  • 1/4 tsp (1.25ml) black pepper
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tbsp (57g) unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp (1.25ml) red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cut the steak into uniform 1-inch cubes. Pat dry with paper towels to ensure a good sear. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or cast iron pan over medium-high heat. Add the steak bites, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan (work in batches if necessary). Sear on all sides until nicely browned, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. Remove the steak bites from the pan and set aside. Reduce the heat to medium. Add butter to the pan and let it melt. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the steak bites back to the pan with the garlic butter sauce. Toss to coat everything evenly. Stir in fresh parsley.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
