Ingredients:
- 8 ounces (225g) dried egg noodles
- 2 quarts (2 liters) water
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 4 tablespoons (60ml) unsalted butter
- 8 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Boil noodles according to package directions until al dente. Drain well, reserving about 1/4 cup of pasta water.
- While noodles cook, mince garlic.
- Melt butter in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook, stirring frequently, until golden brown and fragrant (about 2-3 minutes). Be careful not to burn!
- Add soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), fish sauce, brown sugar, and black pepper to the skillet. Whisk to combine and bring to a simmer.
- Add the cooked noodles to the skillet. Toss well to coat, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time if the sauce is too thick.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro and toasted sesame seeds, if desired. Serve immediately. Enjoy your garlic noodles!
