Ingredients:

  • 1 pound broccolini, trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Juice of 1 lemon (about 2 tablespoons)

Instructions:

  1. Rinse broccolini under cold water and trim tough ends.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet; sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant (do not brown).
  4. Add broccolini, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Toss to combine and ensure even coating.
  5. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until broccolini is bright green and tender but still crisp. Cook until stems are fork-tender.
  6. Remove from heat; add lemon zest and juice. Toss to combine.
  7. Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy immediately.
