Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) fresh green beans, trimmed
- 3 tablespoons (45ml) extra virgin olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) lemon juice (optional)
Instructions:
- Wash and trim the green beans. Ensure they are dry.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Add the green beans to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Sauté, stirring occasionally, until the green beans are tender-crisp and slightly browned (about 7-8 minutes).
- If using, stir in the lemon juice during the last minute of cooking. Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve immediately.
