Ingredients:

  • 1 medium green cabbage (about 2 lbs / 900 g), thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano or thyme
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for serving)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions:

  1. Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage, cut it in half, and thinly slice it.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the sliced onion to the pan and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.
  5. Add the sliced cabbage, salt, pepper, and oregano (or thyme) to the pan. Stir well.
  6. Sauté the cabbage for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until wilted and tender but still slightly crunchy.
  7. Check seasoning and adjust salt or pepper as needed.
  8. Transfer to a serving dish, garnish with fresh parsley and lemon wedges, and serve warm.
