Ingredients:
- 4 (6-ounce/170g) salmon fillets, skin on or off
- 1 tablespoon/15ml olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons/30g unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon/15ml lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 1 tablespoon/15ml chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon/15ml chopped fresh dill
- 1 clove garlic, minced (about 1 teaspoon)
- 1/4 teaspoon/1g lemon zest
- 1/4 teaspoon/1g red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon/1g salt
- 1/8 teaspoon/0.5g black pepper
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F/200°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry. Place them on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, lemon juice, parsley, dill, minced garlic, lemon zest, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Evenly spread the lemon-herb mixture over the top of each salmon fillet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Check for doneness – the internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
- Let the salmon rest for a few minutes before serving.
