Ingredients:

  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 0.5 tsp sea salt
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.75 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 0.5 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mini M&Ms
  • 0.5 cup semi-sweet mini chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar on medium-high speed for 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until fully incorporated and scraping the bowl as needed.
  2. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients on low speed, mixing until just combined. Fold in the mini M&Ms and chocolate chips by hand.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper. Scoop rounded tablespoons (approx. 1.5 - 2 tbsp) of dough and place them 2 inches apart on the sheets.
  4. Bake for 9-11 minutes until the edges are lightly golden but centers remain slightly soft. Immediately press extra mini M&Ms into the tops. Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
