Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp All-purpose flour (30g)
  • 3 tbsp Granulated sugar (35g)
  • 2 tbsp Dutch-processed cocoa powder (10g)
  • 1/4 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp Fine sea salt
  • 1 Large egg
  • 3 tbsp Whole milk (45ml)
  • 2 tbsp Neutral oil (30ml)
  • 1/2 tsp Pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp Semi-sweet chocolate chips (15g)
  • 1 tsp Water

Instructions:

  1. In a 12 oz microwave-safe mug, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and sea salt. Whisk vigorously with a fork to aerate and break up any cocoa clumps.
  2. Add the egg, milk, oil, and vanilla extract directly into the mug. Whisk until the batter is smooth, glossy, and shows no visible streaks of flour.
  3. Drop the chocolate chips into the exact center of the batter without stirring. Drizzle one teaspoon of water directly over the top to create a steam chamber during cooking.
