Ingredients:
- 1 medium head of green cabbage (about 2 pounds / 900g), cored and thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (15ml)
- 1 medium yellow onion (about 6 ounces / 170g), thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds (5ml)
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (2.5ml)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (1.25ml)
- 2 tablespoons water (30ml), if needed
Instructions:
- Core and thinly slice the cabbage.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and sauté until softened and translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the sliced cabbage, caraway seeds, salt, and pepper to the skillet.
- Stir well to combine. Cover the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender-crisp and slightly browned, about 10-15 minutes. If the cabbage starts to stick, add 2 tablespoons of water to the pan.
- Serve immediately while hot.
