Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (85g) fresh spinach, tightly packed
  • 1/2 cup (75g) frozen berries (mixed or your favorite)
  • 1/2 medium banana (approx. 60g), fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) plain Greek yogurt (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) water or ice cubes
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) chia seeds or flax seeds (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Wash the spinach and any fresh fruit. Peel the banana if using fresh.
  2. Add all ingredients to the blender.
  3. Start blending on low speed, gradually increasing to high. Blend until smooth and creamy, about 30-60 seconds. If too thick, add more liquid. If too thin, add more frozen fruit or ice.
  4. Taste the spinach and fruit smoothie and adjust sweetness with honey or maple syrup if needed.
  5. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately!
