Ingredients:

  • 1 large green cabbage (about 2-3 pounds / 900-1350 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (56 grams)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (15 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (or 2 teaspoons dried parsley)

  2. Slice the cabbage into 1-inch thick steaks.
  3. Brush both sides of the cabbage steaks with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Grill or bake the cabbage steaks for about 10 minutes on each side, until tender and slightly charred.
  5. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  6. Stir in lemon juice and parsley; mix well.
  7. Remove the cabbage steaks from heat and brush them with the garlic butter sauce.
  8. Serve warm, drizzling leftover garlic butter over the steaks.
