Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) ground lamb or beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 1 cup (150g) frozen peas
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 pounds (900g) potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- ½ cup (120ml) milk
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Boil peeled potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain and mash with butter and milk until creamy; season with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, sauté diced onion and garlic until translucent. Add ground lamb or beef; cook until browned. Stir in carrots; cook for a few minutes until slightly softened. Add tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, peas, salt, and pepper; mix well.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Spread the meat mixture evenly in a baking dish. Top with mashed potatoes, smoothing it out with a spatula. Use a fork to create texture on the top.
- Place in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown. Serve hot and enjoy!
