Ingredients:
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cracked black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
Instructions:
- Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker in a single layer.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Pour the seasoned broth mixture evenly over the chicken, ensuring every piece is lightly coated.
- Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid. Cook on HIGH for 3–4 hours or on LOW for 7–8 hours until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove the chicken to a plate or leave it in the pot. Use two forks to pull the meat apart along the natural grain, or use a hand mixer on low speed for 30 seconds.
- Return the shredded meat to the slow cooker and toss it in the remaining juices until the liquid is fully absorbed.
