Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe avocados, pitted (approximately 300g / 10.5 oz total weight)
  • 60 ml (¼ cup) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 80 ml (⅓ cup) maple syrup (or agave nectar for vegan option)
  • 60 ml (¼ cup) almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Optional Toppings: Fresh raspberries, chocolate shavings, chopped nuts

Instructions:

  1. Halve, pit and scoop the avocado flesh into the blender or food processor.
  2. Add cocoa powder, maple syrup, almond milk, vanilla extract, and salt to the blender/food processor.
  3. Blend on high speed until completely smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides as needed to ensure all ingredients are incorporated. Look for a silky, pudding-like consistency.
  4. Taste the avocado chocolate mousse and adjust sweetness or cocoa powder to your liking. Add more maple syrup for sweetness or cocoa powder for a richer chocolate flavor.
  5. Divide the mousse evenly among serving glasses or bowls. Cover with cling film (optional, prevents skin forming) and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow it to set.
  6. Before serving, garnish with your choice of toppings like fresh raspberries, chocolate shavings, or chopped nuts.
