Ingredients:
- 2 ripe avocados, halved and pitted (approx. 300g / 10.5 oz flesh)
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (25g / 0.9oz)
- ½ cup granulated sugar (100g / 3.5 oz)
- ¼ cup milk (dairy or non-dairy) (60ml / 2 fl oz)
- 2 tablespoons lime juice, freshly squeezed (30ml / 1 fl oz)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5ml / 0.17 fl oz)
- Pinch of sea salt
- Optional: chocolate shavings, fresh berries, or whipped cream for garnish
Instructions:
- Scoop out the avocado flesh and add it to the blender. Make sure you got all the pit out!
- Add the cocoa powder, sugar, milk, lime juice, vanilla extract, and salt to the blender.
- Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides of the blender as needed to ensure even blending.
- Taste the mousse and adjust sweetness or lime juice to your preference. Add a bit more sugar for extra sweetness or a squeeze more lime juice for a brighter flavor.
- Divide the avocado mousse evenly among the serving glasses or ramekins. Cover with plastic wrap, pressing it directly onto the surface of the mousse to prevent a skin from forming.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the mousse to set properly.
- Before serving, garnish with chocolate shavings, fresh berries, or a dollop of whipped cream, if desired. Serve chilled and enjoy!
