Ingredients:
- 2 lbs beef stew meat or beef chuck, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced (optional)
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 packet (0.87 oz) brown gravy mix
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Pat the beef tips dry with paper towels. This helps in browning if you choose to sear them first.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a tablespoon of oil. Once hot, add the beef tips in batches and sear until browned on all sides; this step enhances flavor but can be skipped if pressed for time.
- Once browned, transfer the meat to your crock pot. Add diced onions, minced garlic, and sliced mushrooms evenly over the top.
- In a separate bowl, combine beef broth and brown gravy mix until smooth.
- Pour the gravy mixture over the meat and vegetables in the crock pot. If using Worcestershire sauce, add it now as well.
- Season with salt and pepper according to your preference.
- For Low Setting: Cover and cook for about 8 hours. For High Setting: Cover and cook for about 4 hours.
