Ingredients:
- 1.5 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ½ cup low-sodium vegetable broth
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
- Wash and trim the ends of the green beans.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the trimmed green beans with olive oil, butter, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, broth, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the green bean mixture into the slow cooker, spreading it out evenly.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 hours, stirring halfway through for even cooking.
- Once cooked, stir in lemon juice and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, if desired.
