Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 0.5 lb ground pork
- 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
- 0.25 cup milk
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.25 tsp black pepper
- 0.5 tsp garlic powder
- 24 oz crushed tomatoes
- 0.25 cup water
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 0.5 tsp onion powder
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, beaten egg, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Gently mix with your hands until just combined, avoiding overworking the meat.
- Scoop approximately 1 tablespoon of the mixture and roll into golf-ball-sized spheres. Place the meatballs in the slow cooker in a single layer or slightly overlapping.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the crushed tomatoes, water, brown sugar, oregano, and onion powder.
- Pour the sauce evenly over the meatballs. Cover with a tight-fitting lid and cook on Low for 6 hours or High for 3 hours until the meatballs are heated through and the sauce has thickened.
