Ingredients:
- 1 baguette, thinly sliced (about 1/4 inch thick)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 8 ounces (225g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 4 ounces (115g) smoked salmon, thinly sliced
- Optional garnishes: fresh dill sprigs, lemon wedges, capers, red onion (finely diced)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Brush baguette slices with olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and arrange in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp. Let cool slightly.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, dill, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until smooth and fully combined.
- Spread a generous amount of cream cheese mixture onto each toasted baguette slice.
- Arrange smoked salmon slices artfully on top of the cream cheese.
- Garnish with fresh dill sprigs, lemon wedges, capers and/or red onion (if desired). Serve immediately.
