Ingredients:
- 4 large chicken breasts (1.5 lbs / 680 g)
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin (2 g)
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander (2 g)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (2 g)
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (2 g)
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat) (2 g)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil (45 ml)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice of 1 lemon (30 ml)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cumin, coriander, cinnamon, smoked paprika, cayenne (if using), olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
- Add chicken breasts to the marinade, coating all sides evenly. Allow to marinate for 15-30 minutes (or up to overnight in the refrigerator for more flavor).
- Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
- Add the marinated chicken breasts to the skillet. Sear for 5-7 minutes on one side or until golden brown. Flip and sear the other side for an additional 5-7 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Serve the chicken, garnished with chopped cilantro or parsley and lemon wedges on the side.
