Ingredients:

  • 1 medium sweet potato (approximately 200g / 7 oz), peeled and cubed
  • 1 medium apple (approximately 150g / 5 oz), peeled, cored, and cubed
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) water or breast milk/formula
  • Optional: Pinch of cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Wash, peel, and dice the sweet potato and apple into roughly equal-sized cubes (about ½-inch).
  2. Steam the cubes in a steamer basket over boiling water for 10-15 minutes, or until the sweet potato and apple are fork-tender. Alternatively, boil them in a saucepan covered with water until fork-tender.
  3. Transfer the cooked sweet potato and apple to a blender or food processor. Add ¼ cup of water or breast milk/formula.
  4. Blend until completely smooth, adding more liquid as needed to achieve the desired consistency.
  5. Let the puree cool to a safe temperature before serving. Test on your wrist to ensure it isn't too hot.
