Ingredients:
- 2 lbs (900g) Russet potatoes, peeled and cut into ½-inch thick fries
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt, plus more for seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
- Place the cut fries in a large bowl of cold water. Add 1 tablespoon of salt. Soak for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours).
- Drain the fries and place them in a large pot. Cover with cold water and bring to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Drain the fries well and lay them out on a clean kitchen towel or several layers of paper towels. Gently pat them dry.
- Toss the fries with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, and pepper. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C). Arrange the fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket (you may need to cook in batches). Cook for 8 minutes.
- Increase the air fryer temperature to 400°F (200°C). Continue cooking for another 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fries are golden brown and crispy.
- Season immediately with salt to taste. Serve hot.
