Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs (900g) Russet potatoes, peeled and cut into ½-inch thick fries
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt, plus more for seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Place the cut fries in a large bowl of cold water. Add 1 tablespoon of salt. Soak for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours).
  2. Drain the fries and place them in a large pot. Cover with cold water and bring to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Drain the fries well and lay them out on a clean kitchen towel or several layers of paper towels. Gently pat them dry.
  4. Toss the fries with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, and pepper. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C). Arrange the fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket (you may need to cook in batches). Cook for 8 minutes.
  5. Increase the air fryer temperature to 400°F (200°C). Continue cooking for another 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fries are golden brown and crispy.
  6. Season immediately with salt to taste. Serve hot.
