Ingredients:

  • 2 large sweet potatoes (about 1.5 lbs / 680g), peeled and cubed into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (30ml)
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt (5g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (3g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (2g)
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (1g)
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional, for a little kick) (0.5g)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Peel the sweet potatoes (optional but recommended) and cut them into roughly 1-inch cubes. Aim for uniform size for even cooking.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the cubed sweet potatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using). Make sure the sweet potatoes are evenly coated.
  4. Spread the seasoned sweet potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (optional). Avoid overcrowding the pan.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the sweet potatoes are tender and caramelized, with slightly crispy edges. This is a great roasted sweet potato recipe.
  6. The sweet potatoes are done when they are easily pierced with a fork.
