Ingredients:
- 3 ripe avocados (about 500g total), Hass preferred
- 1/2 small white onion, finely diced (about 50g)
- 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced (adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped (packed)
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 30ml)
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (about 3g)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin (about 1g) (optional, but adds a nice depth)
- Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
Instructions:
- Halve the avocados, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into the mixing bowl.
- Use a fork or potato masher to mash the avocados to your desired consistency (some like it chunky, some like it smooth!).
- Stir in the diced onion and minced jalapeno pepper.
- Add the chopped cilantro, lime juice, salt, cumin (if using), and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Gently stir all ingredients together until well combined.
- Taste the guacamole and adjust the seasonings as needed, adding more salt, lime juice, or jalapeno to your preference.
- Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate for up to 2 hours to prevent browning.
